Our Story

BklynBarSoap began in 2019 with a mother searching for a gentler way to care for her son Kayden’s eczema-prone skin.

After struggling to find products that were both effective and comforting, founder Tameika Lewis began creating her own. Drawing inspiration from the natural remedies of her Barbadian heritage, she experimented with nourishing plant oils, fruits, herbs, clays, and other skin-loving ingredients.

What began as a personal solution at home grew into a purpose-driven skincare brand serving families and communities looking for a more intentional approach to everyday body care.

Every BklynBarSoap product is created in small batches with carefully selected ingredients and a commitment to quality.

Our collection includes handcrafted soaps, deeply moisturizing vegan body butters, nourishing body and facial oils, exfoliating scrubs, masks, and other essentials designed to turn an ordinary routine into a meaningful moment of care.

We believe skincare should feel good, look beautiful, and have a purpose. That is why our formulas are made without unnecessary fillers and designed with dry, sensitive, and melanin-rich skin in mind.

Tameika Lewis is a mother, entrepreneur, and professional makeup artist with more than 16 years of experience in beauty and skincare.

Her experience working with different skin tones and skin concerns—combined with her personal journey caring for her son’s eczema-prone skin—shaped the thoughtful and inclusive approach behind BklynBarSoap.

Today, Tameika continues to formulate, create, and grow the brand with the same intention that inspired its beginning: helping people feel cared for and confident in their skin.
